San Marco Riverfront Residence

*Previous Experience by Stephen Reinel

Designed by Stephen Reinel, this house echoes the shingle houses on the New England coast with its wide porches, dormer windows and detailed craftsmanship. Steve gave the house many nautical elements because the Cape Cod heritage is so tied to the seashore.

The home has a sense of timeless design, and includes the pool, 3-car garage, summer kitchen and a number of terraces to enjoy the river view. The front of the 2-story home sits squarely at street level, the rear of the home leads down to two terrace levels, including one to accommodate the pool and summer kitchen.

From the foyer, an elaborate arched doorway leads to the most impressive room in the house - the living room. The ceiling soars nearly 30 ft. to a point and is decorated by carved wooden trusses. The stacked stone fireplace is another focus of the room as it climbs to the full height of the ceiling.

The outdoor terraces provide bountiful entertaining spaces that are linked by slate tiles, which tie in with the home’s foundation. The foundation is not only a practical necessity, but also a decorative feature of cultured stone.
